Optional kstats are those that are not created automatically, unless explicitly enabled. .sp .LP The tool enables the user to list the registered optional kstats, and enable or disable such kstats, and to manage the persistence of the enabled state across reboots. .sp .LP The \fBPRIV_KSTAT_MANAGE\fR privilege and the \fBsolaris.smf.manage.kstats\fR authorization is required to change the enabled state of optional kstats. .SH OPTIONS .sp .LP The following options are supported: .sp .ne 2 .mk .na \fB\fBenable id [id ...]\fR\fR .ad .RS 23n .rt Enables the optional kstats identified by the given \fBid\fR strings .RE .sp .ne 2 .mk .na \fB\fBdisable id [id ...]\fR\fR .ad .RS 23n .rt Disables the optional kstats identified by the given \fBid\fR strings .RE .sp .ne 2 .mk .na \fB\fBdefault id [id ...]\fR\fR .ad .RS 23n .rt Resets the optional kstats identified by the given \fBid\fR strings to their default enabled state, and clear any persistent state for the \fBid\fRs. .RE .sp .ne 2 .mk .na \fB\fB-v\fR\fR .ad .RS 23n .rt Verbose output .RE .sp .ne 2 .mk .na \fB\fB-h\fR, \fB-?\fR\fR .ad .RS 23n .rt Displays a usage message .RE .SH EXIT STATUS .sp .LP The following exit values are returned: .sp .ne 2 .mk .na \fB\fB0\fR\fR .ad .RS 5n .rt Successful completion .RE .sp .ne 2 .mk .na \fB\fB1\fR\fR .ad .RS 5n .rt An error occurred .RE .sp .ne 2 .mk .na \fB\fB2\fR\fR .ad .RS 5n .rt User does not have permission to enable or disable optional kstats .RE .SH EXAMPLES .LP \fBExample 1\fR List Optional Kstats .sp .LP The following command lists the optional kstats: .sp .in +2 .nf # \fBkstat2adm\fR IDENTIFIER DEFAULT STATE PSTATE DESCRIPTION nfs:v2_op_latency disabled disabled - NFSv2 server op latency nfs:v3_op_latency disabled disabled disabled NFSv3 server op latency nfs:v41_op_latency disabled disabled - NFSv4.1 server op latency nfs:v4_op_latency disabled enabled enabled NFSv4 server op latency .fi .in -2 .sp .sp .LP The \fBDEFAULT\fR value indicates the default enabled state for the given optional kstats. The \fBSTATE\fR value indicates the current enabled state and the \fBPSTATE\fR value indicates the persistent state which will be set on the optional kstats on the next reboot. The state values which are displayed are the following: .sp .ne 2 .mk .na \fB\fB-\fR\fR .ad .RS 12n .rt State is not set, \fBPSTATE\fR column only .RE .sp .ne 2 .mk .na \fB\fBerror\fR\fR .ad .RS 12n .rt An error occurred while setting or querying the state for this optional kstat. Further information may be available in the system log. If the error is indicated in the \fBSTATE\fR column, the current enabled state of the optional kstats is indeterminate. If the error is shown in the \fBPSTATE\fR column, it indicates that there is a problem querying the \fBkstat2adm\fR SMF service for the persistent state. .RE .sp .ne 2 .mk .na \fB\fBenabled\fR\fR .ad .RS 12n .rt The optional kstats are enabled .RE .sp .ne 2 .mk .na \fB\fBdisabled\fR\fR .ad .RS 12n .rt The optional kstats are disabled .RE .LP \fBExample 2\fR Enable Optional Kstats .sp .LP The following command enables the optional kstats: .sp .in +2 .nf # \fBkstat2adm enable nfs:v4_op_latency nfs:v41_op_latency\fR nfs:v4_op_latency kstats enabled nfs:v41_op_latency kstats enabled .fi .in -2 .sp .LP \fBExample 3\fR Disable Optional Kstats .sp .LP The following command disables the optional kstats: .sp .in +2 .nf # \fBkstat2adm disable nfs:v4_op_latency nfs:v41_op_latency\fR nfs:v4_op_latency kstats disabled nfs:v41_op_latency kstats disabled .fi .in -2 .sp .SH ATTRIBUTES .sp .LP See \fBattributes\fR(7) for descriptions of the following attributes: .sp .TS tab( ) box; cw(2.75i) |cw(2.75i) lw(2.75i) |lw(2.75i) .
